Summer Studentship Application
The Summer Studentship competition is closed.
We regret to inform you that this year, CRAF received limited funding from Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) for the Summer Studentship Program. As a result, very few applicants were awarded funding for their projects.
All successful applicants have been notified. If you have not received an acceptance letter from us by May 10th, your application was not granted.
In some rare cases, Service Canada may notify us of newly available funding throughout the month of May. While there is a very low chance of this happening, should they approve your position within the next 2 weeks, we will notify you immediately.
As a matter of courtesy, kindly advise your mentor of the status of your application.
We appreciate your interest in the CRAF Summer Studentship Program and regret that we are unable to proceed with your application this year. Please do not hesitate to apply again next year.

CRAF Clinical Studentship
May-August | 6-10 weeks
The CRAF offers a clinical-based Summer Studentship (supported by CRA, pending external funding, to be confirmed in late April 2025) designed for Canadian students (citizens or permanent residents) registered in a medical school. This experiential program selects students to shadow a Rheumatologist (CRA member) in a clinical setting.

CRAF Research Studentship
May-August | 6-12 weeks
The CRAF offers a research-based Summer Studentship (supported by CRA, pending external funding, to be confirmed in late April 2025) designed to introduce Canadian students (citizens or permanent residents) registered in a medical school, to the sub-specialty of rheumatology. The program entails connecting a student with a CRA member for a rheumatology-based research project. These research projects must enable participating students to make a significant contribution over the course of the summer.
All applicants must complete the Acknowledgement of Medical School form.
Insurance Requirement: Medical malpractice insurance is strictly required for ALL summer students. The CRAF is not responsible for the cost of obtaining such coverage. Most educational institutions provide this insurance, however if this is not available (i.e. if applicant attends a foreign medical school), it is the responsibility of the summer student to obtain.
Equal & Inclusive Employment: The CRAF is committed to the fundamental principles of equal and inclusive opportunities in employment. The CRAF is committed to ensuring that the recruitment and selection of all employees is fair, open and transparent; will comply with all relevant legislative requirements and will be free from any bias and/or discrimination. This policy applies to all aspects of employment, including recruitment, hiring, placement, promotion, transfer, compensation, training, education and summer studentship programs.
The CRAF reserves the right to cancel this or any program without prior notice.
